Theme: God’s Not Dead (He’s Surely Alive)
Date: June 4-10
Theme verse: John 4:14 – but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.[a] The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
My name is Zeboriah Carter and I am the director for this newest session of Silver Maple Camp. I am the minister at the St. John Church of Christ. For this week, students from 9-18 years old will gather to learn about God, sing songs of praise, form life-long Christian friendships, play games, and learn to encourage one another. This year we will focus on what God’s word says about God being alive and how he promises us that life as well – even eternally.
We will start our week by exploring how God created everything that we see and know. We will see how God gave us His Word that will teach us how to live our lives. We will stress the importance of seeking God in this life and no one else – we must make Him our focus and we must hunger and thirst for him. We will see how God sent his only Son Jesus to this earth to take our sin upon himself on the Cross. We will also look at how some of the world says that God is dead, but we will see that certainly he is alive.
We will have classes taught by counselors from the word of God. We will spend some time in discussion on the topic of the week. We were memorize scripture (a new passage each day). We will also have some time for boys and girls separately to learn from each other. In addition to the time we will spend learning about God, we will also have a great time playing games – like softball, volleyball, soccer, basketball, swimming, arts & crafts – and many other fun activities! We are looking forward to a great week and hope you will join us!
