- Second Session -
Summary–
Hope for Exiles is built around one powerful truth: even in seasons of dislocation, uncertainty, or struggle, God offers His people real and lasting hope.
Throughout Scripture, we meet faithful people like Daniel, Esther, and others who lived as exiles, far from home, navigating unfamiliar territory, facing pressure, fear, or isolation. And yet, in every moment, God was with them. He didn’t just sustain them; He shaped them into courageous, wise, and hopeful people who made a difference where they were.
This week at camp, we’ll step into their stories; and through them, we’ll learn how to live with hope in our own seasons of uncertainty. Whether we feel spiritually dry, emotionally distant, or simply unsure where we belong, the message of exile reminds us that God is near, His promises still hold, and He’s not done writing our story.
In Bible classes, worship, and conversations under the stars, we’ll be reminded that exile is not the end of the story… It’s where hope often begins.
Message from the Director:
Welcome, Campers and Families!
What a gift it is to welcome you to another summer at Silver Maple Camp Second Session! Whether you are returning to a place that already feels like home or preparing for your very first week with us, we are so excited to have you join our camp family.
As Director, my commitment remains the same: to cultivate a safe, vibrant community where every camper can grow, belong, and be transformed in the spirit of Christ.
At Second Session, our focus centers on three core values: safety, community, and Christ-like transformation.
Safety is our foundation. Our staff is carefully selected and trained, and they work diligently to create an environment where campers can explore new adventures, build friendships, and deepen their faith with confidence and security.
Community is our heartbeat. There is something special about this week — the laughter in the cabins, the encouragement during activities, the shared moments of worship. We strive to create a space where every camper is known, valued, and welcomed.
And above all, our prayer is for transformation. Through meaningful classes, engaging activities, intentional conversations, and times of worship and reflection, we hope each camper leaves looking a little more like Jesus than when they arrived.
To our returning campers — welcome back! You help shape the culture of this place, and your excitement and leadership make Silver Maple what it is.
To those joining us for the first time — get ready for a week of deep friendships, growing faith, and memories you will carry with you long after summer ends.
Parents, thank you for trusting us with your camper. We do not take that responsibility lightly. We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming, Christ-centered environment where your child can thrive — spiritually, socially, and personally.
I invite you to explore our website to learn more about our mission and values. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to serve your family.
I cannot wait to see what God will do this summer at Silver Maple Camp Second Session. Let’s make this season one of joy, growth, and lasting transformation.
Blessings,
Jared Shipley
